Factors affecting the stress in role performance among village health volunteers Plakrad Sub-district, Bangrakam District, Phitsanulok Province

Abstract

This research is investigate factors that could influence the stress in roles performance by 123 village health volunteers in Plakrad Sub-district, Bangrakam District, Phitsanulok Province. Data collected using a questionnaire where Cronbach's alpha coefficient of stress, job factors, and organizational factors are 0.79, 0.78, and 0.70, respectively. Multiple linear regression is used to analyze the data at significance 0.05. 
The results found that the mean overall score of the stress in roles performance of village health volunteers was at medium level (gif.latex?\bar{X} = 1.46, S.D. = 0.49). The factors related to stress on role performance in the organization include relations with colleagues (β = -0.244, p-value = 0.038) and the management of the primary care unit (β = -0.277, p-value = 0.005). This study shows that creating good relationships among village health volunteers and improving the administration and management of primary care, village health volunteers should be supported opportunities to participate in the setting of policy and standards with impact on practice. In order that reducing the severity of job stress, which would mean that work efficiency among village health volunteers will improve, resulting in an overall improvement in the quality of health care.
