Effectiveness of Acupuncture treatment in Post Covid Syndrome: Case Report

Abstract
Covid-19 had been spreading in many waves since 2020 to present. From a survey of long-term effects found that about 25% would have a post covid syndrome. Common symptoms were persistent breathless, fatigue, palpitation, poor memory, headache, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbance. It believed that fragments of viral genome or viral antigens might cause the immune system malfunction and inflammation in various system of the body. The current treatment mainly focused on symptomatic treatment but many patients did not respond to the treatment. This article presented the treatment of Post Covid Syndrome in 3 patients with Chinese pattern acupuncture based on theory of exogenous pathogens and the six meridians syndrome differentiation theory. Focusing on nourishment and stimulation 3 meridians, shaoyang, yangming and taiyin. Patients recovered from post covid syndrome by the treatment was effective, fast, cost-effective and physician who had acupuncture knowledge could easily to perform. We hoped the knowledge could be widely used as a choice of treatment for “Post Covid Syndrome”.
