Coronavirus Disease 2019 Outbreak investigation Of the first patient in Nakhon Sawan Province 23th March 2020

Abstract

On March 22, 2020 The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 3 Nakhon Sawan Province had received laboratory results from Sawanpracharak Hospital, found a case infected with SARS-CoV-2. That was the first of confirmed patient in Nakhon Sawan Province. Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 3 Nakhon Sawan Province, Nakhon Sawan Public Health Office, and Sawanpracharak Hospital conducted an outbreak investigation on March 23, 2020. The objectives of investigation to confirm the outbreak, to describe the epidemiologic characteristics, to find sources of diseases, and to evaluate the risk of the disease spread and to establish appropriate prevention and control measures. The Study method were conducted by descriptive epidemiology study. Interview patient by used the investigation form of Bureau of Epidemiology. Laboratory by collecting nasopharyngeal swab and Throat swab samples to confirm infected. Environment study included characteristics of the workplace, residence and snooker club. The results study found a patient confirmed 1 case. The patient was closed contact with confirm case patient Code 14A1503SK16. Active Case Finding found 17 patients under investigation (PUI), laboratory resulted were not detected. From monitoring surveillance, investigation and control until 28 days, additional patients were not found. But the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) it is a Dangerous Communicable Disease. So, should be closely monitored and investigated in the area.
