Effects of Buddhist-Oriented Personal Growth and Counseling Group with Body Movement on Paññā in Female Breast Cancer Patients

Abstract

Objective: to examine the effects of Buddhist-oriented personal growth and counseling group with body movement on Paññā in female breast cancer patients


Methods : Quasi-experimental method, with pretest-posttest control group design. Participants were 32 females who underwent breast cancer treatments. They were match-paired and randomly assigned to the experimental group and the control group, (N=16 per group). Each participant in the experimental group attended a Buddhist-oriented personal growth and counseling group with body movement. Prior to and after the group attendance, participants responded to the Paññā Scale1 evaluation. T-Test was then used for data analysis.


Results: revealed that the posttest score of the experimental group was significantly higher than the pretest score (p<.01). The posttest score on Paññā Scale of the experimental group on Paññā Scale was significantly higher than the posttest score of the control group (p<.05).


Conclusion: Participating Buddhist-oriented personal growth and counseling group with body movement increased Paññā statistically significantly in Breast cancer patients.
