Abstract

There are 3 types of clinical prediction rules (CPRs) which are different from ordianary psychiatric screening tools.

In this review, another method for tool development is proposed using clinical prediction rule. There are 4 steps i.e development, validation, impact analysis, and implementation. However, only the first step is highlighted in this review. A set of risk factors was obtained by multivariable binary logistic regression. The technique shown included indicators that were selected, weighted, assigned, and summed to create a total risk score, which was eventually divided into risk groups by proper cut-off points. In addition, risk score performances were evaluated using an example from a study regarding a risk-scoring scheme for suicide attempts among patients with bipolar disorder.
