Abstract

Objective: To study the internal consistency reliability of the Mental Health Recovery Measures-Thai Version (MHRM-Thai).

Method: Sixty psychiatric patients were purposively recruited. They all aged 18 years or over and received an occupational therapy program in the hospital. The subjects had no hallucinations or delusions while they were answering the questionnaire.

Result: It was found that the Cronbach's alpha coefficient is 0.924 which implied that the measure has a very good level of internal consistency. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient by domain is 0.911, which implies that the internal consistency of domain is very good as well. Despite this finding, there is one item getting an item-total correlation below 0.4.

Conclusion: The MHRM-Thai Version has very satisfactory internal consistency. However, further studies about the internal consistency are recommended before using the MHRM-Thai with patients who present different characteristics.

Key words: Mental health recovery, Mental health recovery measure, Mental health recovery measure-Thai version, Internal consistency reliability
