Concept and Ethical Behavior of the Youths Undergone the Summer Novice Ordination in an Area of the Jurisdiction of Ecclesiastical Organization (the Sangha Government) Region 7

Abstract

Objectives: To study factors that influenced to concept and ethical behavior of the youths undergone the summer novice ordination.

Material and means: This study is a cross-sectional survey. This research was designed to study the youths currently enrolled at the Provincial Matthayom Suksa School, who have undergone the summer novice ordination in an area of the Jurisdiction of Ecclesiastical Organization Region 7, which includes the provinces of Chiang Mai, Lamphun, and Mae Hong Son, during the period of B.E.2550-2557. The researcher collected purposive sampling data totally from five schools, where 22 teachers and 202 middle school students were selected. The statistics were analyzed data by means of basic statistics consisting of mean, percentage for Describe basics data of youths currently enrolled. For analyzed factors that influenced to Concept and Ethical Behavior of the Youths with the Pearson Correlation Coefficient.

Results:   It was found that the concept and ethical behavior of the youths undergone the summer novice ordination was rated at a high level, they were endowed with: positive conscience, realizing the value of religion, culture and traditions, viewpoint towards the future, and perceiving self-value, respectively. In view of the factors related to the concept and ethical behavior of the youths undergone the summer novice ordination,the first was an activity in the novice ordination (r = .850), followed by the subject-matter of moral training program (novice ordination) (r = .837), the support of parents (= .757), the experience of the youths (before ordination) (= .505), respectively.

Conclusion:The concept and ethical behavior of the youths who undergone the summer novice ordination exercised influence on the ethical behavior was rated at high level.Factors that influenced most was an activity in the novice ordination.
