Prevalence and associated factors of exclusive breastfeeding among mothers in Pan-Ta-Naw township, Myanmar

Abstract

This cross sectional study aimed to explore the prevalence and predictors of exclusive breast feeding practices in Pan-Ta-Naw Township, Ayyerwaddy Region, Myanmar. Two-stages tratified sampling was used to randomly select a sample of 403 mothers who have a childaged 6-12 months. They were interviewed both in rural and urban hospitals. The research instrument was consisted of 43 questions. Chi-square tests and multiple logistic regressions were performed to examine factors associated with exclusive breast feeding.
