Sexual behavior related to HIV/AIDS of 5 target groups in Bangkok, 2008

Abstract
This Sexual behavioral survey on the risk of infection with HIV in Bangkok in 2008, the survey was conducted in March - August on 5 different groups, namely: 8th graders and 11th graders from secondary schools; 2nd year vocational school students; groups of factory workers; and a group from the general population. Data was collected from a total of 5,759 respondents which 2,740 respondents are male and 3,019 respondents are female.
In relation to individual knowledge concerning HIV/AIDS, the findings indicated that 8th graders were less likely to answer the survey questions correctly followed by the vocational school group, the 11th graders, the factory worker groups and finally, the general population group.
Further, when queried about condom use. In the student groups, consistent condom use was higher than in either the factory worker groups or in the general population group and the consistent condom use by females was less than by males. However, when classified by type of partner, it was found that consistent condom use was considerably lower between boyfriends/girlfriends and married couples.
