Evaluation of the Development of Dental Services System in Pregnant Women in the Health Service Network at Wichian Buri District Phetchabun province

Abstract

Objective: to study the development of dental service system for pregnant women in Wichian Buri district, Phetchabun province.

Materials & methods:this research and development.

Population & samples:The samples were 2 groups: 130 personnel working in an antenatal clinic and 260 pregnant women.Studied at Wichian Buri Hospital and all sub-district health promoting hospitals. in Wichian Buri District Phetchabun province. A research tool used as a questionnaire.Between September and October 2022, the research instrument was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using percentages, mean and standard deviation and multiple linear regression.

Results:It was found that after development, 91.9% of pregnant women were advised.Demonstration of brushing methods 45.0% Demonstrate dental floss 38.4% and provide dental services (scaling/filling teeth) 30.0%. Overall, the level of perceived benefit in oral health care was high (3.90±0.73). A high level of self-health perception (3.91±0.97), high family support (4.01±0.98), obtaining of social support (3.96±0.86). Factors of social support and family support were able to predict the mean oral health status (mean, caries, fillings, tooth extraction: DMFT) of pregnant women statistically significant 16.7% (R²adj=0.167, p<0.025). Personnel participate in oral health promotion work of pregnant women (3.83±0.89)and the quality of dental services at a high level (3.60±2.90).

Conclusion: after the development, it was found that the overall quality of dental services among pregnant women was highcombined with social and family support, as a result, pregnant women were more oral health conditions.
