Abstract

This research was a case-control study to study the relationship between herbal use and a sharp decrease in glomerular filtration rate in CKD stage 4.5 in eGFR decreasing > 4 ml/min/1.73m2/year with 32 samples.  The patients were decreasing CKD stage 4 with eGFR decreased < 4 ml/min/1.73m2/year of 40 samples in chronic kidney disease clinic, Nakhon Phanom.  Hospital The study was conducted from June 2020 - October 2020. Data was collected by interviewing CKD patients who received service 1 time and retrospectively collecting data. The study compared general characteristics and herbal characteristics associated with rapid reduction of glomerular filtration rate by using t-test and exact probability test. Risk trait analysis and confounding variables were controlled by using multivariable logistic regression.

The results found that analyzing multivariable logistic regression by controlling for variables such as education level, B.M.I., LDL, lipid-lowering drugs, soda mint, CaCO3 CKD patients’ stage 4,5 with the use of herbs. The result was a sharp decrease in the glomerular filtration rate 12.20 times more than those who did not use (3.28-45.42, p-value<0.001). Also, the characteristics of the herb affected the rapid reduction of glomerular filtration rate by transforming into capsules 12.09 times (1.61-90.92 p-value<0.01)
