Distinguished Professors, Participants, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am pleased to welcome you to the city of Bangkok and to this International Conference on Advancement in Health Sciences Education and Professions: Synergy and Reform for Better Health, organized by the Praboromrajchanok Institute, the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand.
This year marks the most special occation of the royal coronation ceremony for the King Rama X. The conference is particularly being held to honor this special ceremony.
Ladies and gentlemen,
The preparation of the health professions workforce is an essential tool in achieving the goals of a reformed health care system for better care, better health, increased access, and especially lower costs. Health professionals appropriately trained, in the right number, with the right distribution across disciplines, and utilizing their full range of skills are essential to achieving these aims. Research and innovations in higher education are required to train health professionals to think critically of issues faced by patients and medical providers, every day.
This conference is a very meaningful forum for educators, policy makers, health practitioners and professions, researchers and academics to exchange knowledge, innovations, trends, and valuable expertise. I very much hope that this productive forum will benefit you in your own area of professional specialization, and thus consequently lead to the improvement in the health of the population, patient outcomes, and the performance of the health care system and practices.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all delegates and sponsors for their full support, cooperation, and contribution to this conference. I also wish to express my gratitude to the PBRI for their hard work. Lastly, thank you all participants from all regions of Thailand and other countries. You all make this conference a memorable moment.
In closing, I realize that you are fully dedicated to the sessions that will follow. But I do hope you will also take time to enjoy fascinating Thailand, with its tropical setting, friendly people and multi-cultural cuisine.
I wish the participants a very fruitful and productive meeting. With that, I declare the International Conference on Advancement in Health Sciences Education and Professions: Synergy and Reform for Better Health 2019 open.
Thank you.
