Abstract
ร้อยละ 70 ของเลือดที่มาเลี้ยงลูกตาอยู่ที่คอรอยด์ (choroid) ซึ่งเป็นอวัยวะที่หล่อเลี้ยงและให้สารอาหารแก่จอตา (retina) หากมีความผิดปกติที่คอรอยด์ เช่น การอักเสบ การติดเชื้อ ความผิดปกติทางหลอดเลือด เป็นต้น ก็อาจทำให้มีผลต่อจอตาและทำให้การมองเห็นลดลงได้ ดังนั้น การที่เราเข้าใจลักษณะทางกายวิภาคและหน้าที่ของคอรอยด์ จะนำไปสู่การเข้าใจถึงตัวโรคต่างๆ ของจอตาและคอรอยด์ได้ ทำให้เราสามารถวินิจฉัย รักษา และติดตามโรคกลุ่มนี้ได้อย่างถูกต้อง
