THE PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM MANAGEMENT IN THAILAND PREMIER LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

Abstract

The purposes of the study were investigated The Professional Football Team Management in Thailand Premier League according to the organizational management structure including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling and to compare the management condition of professional football team entering Thailand Premier League 2008. The comparisons were between the group with the highest points and the group with the lowest points from Thailand Premier League 2008 Tournament. Each group contained 3 teams.  The 190 samples of the study consisted of 14 team managers, 14 coaches, and 162 players. The instrument applied in the study was a questionnaire constructed by the researcher. The statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test.

The findings revealed as followed:

1.  The management for preparing the professional football team entering Thailand Premier League in the over all part was at high level.  The overall part of the management included planning, organizing, leading, and controlling was at the high level.

2.   The results of comparing the mean of the management between the three teams of the group with the highest scores and the three teams of the group with the lowest scores in Thailand Premier League Tournament revealed significant differences. The groups with higher score had higher score in four organizational management operations: 1. In  planning, the 2 groups were different  the most in the budget plan of the football clubs; 2. In organizing, the two groups were different the most in organizational analysis of weakness, strength,bopportunities, and threats;

3. In leading, the two groups were different the most in players and staff  having relaxation from the recreation al activities provided by their own clubs.; 4. In controlling, the two groups were different the most in continual development and assessment processes in team management for standardization.
