Abstract

The evolution of health science has rapidly progressed while the world's population and the average age of the population continue to increase. This has led to an increase in the number of health service users. In opposition, the number of nursing professionals has decreased in the rate of recruitment and increased resignation. This has resulted in the current nursing workforce being insufficient to meet the needs of service users, leading to a problem of shortage of professional nurses, which has been a long-standing problem in the health system. It is becoming more prevalent. Currently, the changing structure of the population has resulted in a variety of generations in nursing professionals who worked together in the organization. The new generation of nurses who began working in the health system. The vital workforce in the future healthcare system will be the Z generation nurses, who have different characteristics from other generations. Nursing administrators must learn and understand the Z generation nurses who has high rates of resignation, job changes, and low loyalty to the organization. It is challenging for leaders to manage this generation in the nursing organization to maintain them. The purpose of this article was to present the concept of transformational leadership, which is an appropriate leadership style in the current context of economic and social changes in the globalized world, where organizations faced various changes. This article demonstrated a leadership approach using the 4Is principles, including Idealized influence, Inspiration motivation, Intellectual stimulation, and Individualized consideration, to ensure the continued success of nursing professionals, specifically those of the Z generation nurses with unique and important characteristics. The aim was to take care of and manage nursing staff in order to increase their retention and ensure their future role in the healthcare system.
