ประสิทธิผลของการสวมใส่เข็มขัดพยุงหลังในขณะทำงาน ของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์โรงพยาบาลแห่งหนึ่งในจังหวัดชลบุรี

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิผลของการสวมใส่เข็มขัดพยุงหลังในขณะทำงานของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์แผนกซักฟอก คลังพัสดุ เจ้าหน้าที่เวรเปลและอาคารสถานที่ ในโรงพยาบาลแห่งหนึ่งจังหวัดชลบุรี ศึกษาวิจัยเชิงทดลองในรูปแบบสุ่มที่มีการควบคุม (randomised controlled trial: RCT) สุ่มตัวอย่างโดยการแยกประเภท (stratified randomization) แบ่งประเภทด้วยแผนก อายุ เพศ เปรียบเทียบอาการปวดคอ หลังและสะโพก การใช้ยาบรรเทาอาการปวด การลาป่วยและปัจจัยด้านทุพพลภาพจากอาการปวดหลังด้วยแบบประเมินโรแลนด์-มอร์รีสระหว่างกลุ่มที่ใช้และไม่ได้ใช้เข็มขัดพยุงหลัง กลุ่มละ 26 คน โดยทั้งสองกลุ่มจะได้รับการอบรมเรื่องการยศาสตร์ร่วมด้วย ประเมินผลทุกสัปดาห์ รวมระยะเวลา 1 เดือน ผลการศึกษาพบว่ากลุ่มที่ใช้เข็มขัดพยุงหลัง มีค่ามัธยฐานคะแนนอาการปวดคอ หลังส่วนบน หลังส่วนล่างและสะโพกแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับอาการปวดก่อนใช้เข็มขัดพยุงหลัง โดยหลังส่วนล่างเป็นตำแหน่งเดียวที่มีความแตกต่างของอาการปวดระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมหลังการศึกษา และช่วยลดการลาป่วยจากอาการปวดกล้ามเนื้ออย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ แต่ไม่พบความแตกต่างของอัตราการใช้ยาบรรเทาปวดและปัจจัยด้านทุพพลภาพจากอาการปวดหลัง บุคลากรทางการแพทย์ส่วนใหญ่มีความพึงพอใจหลังการใช้เข็มขัดพยุงหลังอยู่ในระดับมาก แต่มีทัศนคติที่ไม่ถูกต้อง เช่นคิดว่าเข็มขัดพยุงหลังเป็นอุปกรณ์ป้องกันอันตรายส่วนบุคคล (ร้อยละ 76.9) สามารถยกและเคลื่อนย้ายวัสดุโดยไม่ต้องสนใจท่าทางการยกที่ถูกต้อง (ร้อยละ 26.9) และสามารถยกของได้หนักมากขึ้นโดยปลอดภัย (ร้อยละ 76.9) ดังนั้นจึงควรมีการสนับสนุนการใช้เข็มขัดพยุงหลังที่มีคุณภาพที่มีการขึ้นทะเบียนในการใช้เป็นเครื่องมือแพทย์และให้คำแนะนำในการใช้เข็มขัดพยุงหลังด้วยข้อมูลที่ถูกต้อง และใช้หลักการยศาสตร์ในการยกและเคลื่อนย้ายวัสดุอย่างปลอดภัยร่วมด้วยเสมอ
