ลักษณะทางระบาดวิทยาของผู้เสียชีวิตจากโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 (COVID-19) ในประเทศไทย ระหว่างวันที่ 1 มกราคม 2563 ถึงวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2564

การศึกษาในครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาเชิงพรรณนาแบบตัดขวาง (cross-sectional descriptive study) ใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิของผู้เสียชีวิตที่ตรวจพบเชื้อไวรัส SARS-CoV-2 ที่รายงานจากสถานพยาบาลทั่วประเทศ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพรรณนาลักษณะทางระบาดวิทยาของผู้เสียชีวิตจากโรคโควิด 19 ระบุปัจจัยที่อาจเกี่ยวข้องกับการเสียชีวิต และให้ข้อเสนอแนะในมาตรการป้องกันควบคุมโรคที่เหมาะสม พบว่าตั้งแต่เริ่มมีการระบาดจนถึงวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2564 พบผู้ป่วยยืนยันโรคโควิด 19 จำนวน 2,223,435 ราย เสียชีวิต 21,679 ราย อัตราป่วยตายร้อยละ 0.98 อัตราส่วนเพศชายต่อเพศหญิง 1.2:1 ค่ามัธยฐานอายุเท่ากับ 68 ปี ผู้เสียชีวิตเกือบทั้งหมดมีสัญชาติไทย ส่วนใหญ่มีโรคประจำตัว โดยที่พบมากที่สุด คือ โรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด (รวมความดันโลหิตสูง) คิดเป็นร้อยละ 69.44 ผู้เสียชีวิตส่วนใหญ่ไม่ได้รับยาจำเพาะต่อการรักษาหรือได้รับล่าช้า และไม่ได้รับวัคซีนป้องกันโรคโควิด 19 จังหวัดที่พบผู้เสียชีวิตมากที่สุด คือ กรุงเทพมหานคร (ร้อยละ 31.71) สถานที่เสียชีวิตส่วนใหญ่ คือ โรงพยาบาล (ร้อยละ 96.77) การระบาดแบ่งเป็น 3 ระลอก ผู้เสียชีวิตส่วนใหญ่พบในการระบาดระลอกที่ 3 คุณลักษณะทางระบาดวิทยาของผู้เสียชีวิตในทั้ง 3 ระลอกมีความใกล้เคียงกัน กลุ่มเป้าหมายที่สำคัญของการป้องกันควบคุมโรคโควิด 19 คือ ผู้สูงอายุและผู้มีโรคประจำตัว ควรเพิ่มการเข้าถึงการรักษา ความสามารถในการรองรับผู้ป่วยโรคโควิด 19 การเข้าถึงยาที่จำเพาะต่อการรักษา รวมถึงความครอบคลุมของการได้รับวัคซีนป้องกันโรคโควิด 19
