The informants of the research were 11 first-line nursing managers with experiences in nursing information recruited using a snowball selection technique. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, and then analyzed with Colaizzi’s method.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The study found that the meanings of nursing information management were to collect and use data (for managers with over 10 years of working experience) and the process of nursing information management using knowledge in nursing information, nursing practice, nursing management, nursing quality, and studying and researching together in the systematical basis (for managers with less than 10 years of working experience). The informants classified nursing information management into five groups, which were 1) planning that emphasizes people who manage information, policy plan on data using, clear budget, and ready-to-use hardware, software, network, and database, 2) information team in the form of information committee and nurses with expertise in nursing and information, 3) database and information management consisting of general database, personnel database, nursing quality database that emphasize online platforms for the ease and reduction of work, 4) monitoring and assessing the outcomes as targeted by the nursing organization to be flexible and changeable according to the changing needs for data usage, and 5) innovations of nursing information, creativity and new nursing services using digital technology for nursing databases, services, and referral system for injured police officers or health checkup services with a competency to link with the multidisciplinary team.&nbsp; The results of this research indicate that nursing information management requires managers’ experiences and congruence with nursing information management and contexts of hospitals under the Royal Thai Police.</p> ER -
