The samples consisted of 123, 3rd-year nursing students studying at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Suphanburi in an academic year of 2018. The research instruments included the manual of problem-based learning for Nursing Care of Person with Mental Health Problems Subject, the personal data record form, and the cognitive learning outcomes evaluation instrument with the reliability of .88. The implementation and data collection were conducted during November 6–27, 2018. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, and paired <em>t</em>-test.</p><p>The research results revealed that after receiving the problem-based learning approach, the nursing students had statistically significant higher overall mean score of cognitive skills than that of before receiving the problem-based learning approach (<em>t</em> = 7.644, <em>p</em> &lt; .001).</p><p>This research suggests that nursing instructors should continuously apply this problem-based learning approach in Nursing Care of Person with Mental Health Problems Subject and other nursing subjects in order to enhance cognitive skills among nursing students.</p> ER -
