The samples consisted of 90 elderly who followed up in cardiovascular clinic, out patient department, Trat Hospital. The research instruments included the Chula Mental Test, a recording form of CAD patient basic data, the General Health Perception Battery with the reliability of .82, the Seligman Attributional Style Questionnaire with the reliability of .73, the Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale with the reliability of .78, the Personal Resource Questionnaire with the reliability of .90, and the Herth Hope Index with the reliability of .81. Data were collected from June to August, 2015. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression.</p> <p>The research results revealed that the elderly with CAD perceived their hope at a high level (X = 37.77, SD = 5.58). The combination of health perception, optimism, and social support together could statistically significant predict 61.90% of hope of the elderly with CAD (R<sup>2</sup> = .619, <em>p</em> < .01).</p> <p>This research suggested that nurses and health care providers should design nursing interventions for elderly with CAD concerning their social support, health perception and optimism in order to promote and maintain their high level of hope.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Journal of Phrapokklao Nursing College, Chanthaburi}, author={ศรีวิรัญ อังคณา and สุ่มเงิน ชมนาด and โสมานุสรณ์ สิริลักษณ์}, year={2018}, month={Jul.}, pages={101–112} }
