Data were collected by both quantitative and qualitative methods. Instruments were guidelines of questions for in-depth interviews and focus groups. The participants in the study included administrators, nurses, caregivers, cooks and parents of children who attended these centers- a total of 194 participants. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis.

Key success factors can be divided into 3 aspects as input, process and output. The input factors included the explicit health promotion policies and support from the Faculty of Nursing and parent participation. The process factors included creating sets of child care practice and child health promotion guidelines; tools for child health assessment; continuing development of personnel and the integration of learning, teaching, and services. The output factors were optimal growth and development of early childhood; research and innovation and parents satisfaction with the service provided. The results of this lesson learned can be a model for other nursing academic institutions to develop guidelines for child health promoting practices in their own centers.
ER -
