Data was retrieved from medical records of 1,074 mothers who had their antenatal care and gave birth at Health Promotion Center Region 6 and Khon Kaen Hospital during 1stJanuary – 31stDecember 2010. The result revealed that common complications included anemia (5.7%), hypertension (3.2%), BMI < 19.8 kg/m2before pregnancy (55.0%), gained < 8 Kg during pregnancies (15.4%), and BMI < 21.0 kg/m2at delivery (10.0%). The hematocrit < 33 vol% between 24.9 - 29.7%, thalassemia (5.4%), and thalassemia carriers (30%). VDRL and HIV positive rate of 0.3% equally, HBsAg positive (6.0%), in all of hepatitis B positive cases, 14.8% were HBeAg positive. Birth outcomes revealed that preterm labor (14.5%), prolonged 1st, 2nd, and 3rdstage of labor of 1.7%, 2.6%, and 1.4%, respectively. Complications during 1stand 2ndstages of labor were common including CPD (28.9%), fetal distress (18.0%), maternal exhaustion (15.8%), and breech presentation (13.5%). Episiotomy (92.8%), in which 1.3% had 3rd-4thdegree tear. A high prevalence of low birth weight (<2,500 gm) of 18.7%, and postpartum hemorrhage of 5.4%. ER -
