Electronic data bases and literature searches forBuddhist intervention studies were used. Evaluation of the research studies was conducted by methodologicalquality criteria and narrative review. Fourteen studies met the criteria. Most of the studies were theses. The studysamples included both general population and clinical patients. The results from reviewed studies providedpositive results on promoting mental health. However, there is a need to be cautious in utilizing the researchresults into practice due to research methodology weakness. Future researches need to be rigorous on its researchmethodologies. Buddhist programs should be clearly explained, including the length and frequency of mindfulness. Longitudinal follow-up study and intention to treat analysis need to be consider for future research.
