The 13 participants were selected by purposive sampling. The data were collected between July-December 2013. An in-depth interview and the data were analyzed by content analysis.The results showed hypertension labeled are“rokborepenhyung” (nothing uncommon, no symptom, normal) “poodhor” (headache) “win/woob” (dizziness/flash) and “meay” (tired). The causal representation of hypertension included eating high quantities of a high salt diet and a high fat diet, no exercise, stress, heredity and degeneration of the body occurring as age increases. The representation of the timeline of the illness representation included those without symptoms and “Penlaewborhaiy” (No recovery). The representation of consequences in patients included no effect and have effect as well as work, social, economic, psychological and health effects.
