Construct Validity of the Khon Kaen University Family Health Needs and Problems Assessment Tool (KKU FHeNPAT): Case Studies of the Informal Sector Families in Isan

The objective of this study was to examine the construct validity of the Khon Kaen University FamilyHealth Needs and Problems Assessment Tool (KKU FHeNPAT) as continued developed by the researchers.The study was conducted and compared among 178 families in four areas in Isan. Before conducting the datathe developed tool was carried out for content validity and appropriate language using by the 12 local activists.A reliability score of followings: 0.87 for Khon Kaen and Nong Bua Lam Pu Province, 0.92 for Loei Province,and 0.98 for Sakonnakhon Province were determined by Cronbachûs Alpha Coefficient method. Study resultswere analyzed by the One Way ANOVA method and found that there were differences between the mean scoresin family health problem and need outcomes of the general Informal Sector families and Informal Sector familieswith health complex problems (F= 182.94, p< 0.001). Results suggest that the KKU Family Health Needsand Problems assessment tool (KKU FHeNPAT) can be used to differentiate the family health problems andneeds, in terms of both each factors and the general overview. Therefore this tool would be useful for familyhealth needs assessment and family nursing process.Downloads
