Abstract
This study aimed to examine competency levels and roles implementation in health promotion under Ottawa Charter among nurses in primary, secondary, and tertiary health service systems. The nurses at 4,013 health institutes in northeastern region of Thailand were recruited. The questionnaires, 14,188 questionnaires, were sent to the nurses during May to June 2014. 67.04% of questionnaires were returned and 7,852 questionnaires were completed and analyzed. Results revealed that 1)most of competency levels in health promotion were at basic to expert level, and 2) most of roles implementation in health promotion under Ottawa Charter among nurses were yearly implementation; (1)build healthy public was 32.6%, (2) create supportive environment was 35.8%, (3) strengthen community action was 31.4%, (4) develop personal skills was 32.9%, and (5) reorient health services was 41.2%.
