Nursing care for pregnant women with diabetes to control their blood sugar levels

This article aimed to suggest the nursing care for pregnant women with diabetes to control their blood sugar levels or complications. Dietary control, regular exercise, and insulin administration are crucial strategies to promote the healthy pregnant women with diabetes. The key important is that dietary should be divided into four parts a day with proportion of energy as 25: 30: 30: 15. The fasting times should be not exceed 6 hours. The dietary with low glycemic index is recommended. The pregnant women without any complication should be exercised regularly at least 4 times/ week for 25-60 minutes per session, based on their conditions and types of exercise. Walking, swimming, stretching arms and legs are recommendation. Insulin administration and the blood glucose level must be monitored regularly at least 7 times/ day.
