The purpose of this clinical quasi experimental research was to study the effects of participatory learn-ing program on diet control behavior among pregnant women. The samples were pregnant women with diabetes mellitus insulin independent: ten pregnant women were control group and ten pregnant women were experimental group. The control group received routine care. The experimental group received routine care with the two times participatory learning program with family in the first and second week of experiment. The experimental instruments included the handout of diet control, the participatory learning program for nurse, and the blood sugar checking machine. The collecting instruments included the demographic and diet control behavior questionnaires, and the recording form of blood sugar. Data were analyzed by t-testand χ2-test. The results revealed that the score of diet control behavior in the experimental group after experiment were significant higher than before experiment and higher than control group at 0.05level. The proportion of the experimental group who decreased fasting blood sugar level and two- hour postprandial blood sugar level decreased after experiment more than the control group, but were not statistically significant at 0.05level.Downloads
