Having consummed the embrynated eggs of Taenia solium in fresh vegetables or raw pork, the cysts will spread in all over the body. If the cysts penatrated into important organs such as brain and spinal cord, these caused neurocysticercosis. The fatal symptoms of neurocysticercosis are headache, nausea, vomiting, epileptic seizures, and paralytic limbs, which can may cause death. These have direct impacts on people’s health, as well as the economy and society. Cysticercosis can be prevented by the modification of healthy consuming behaviors. However, it is difficult to promote healthy consuming behaviors because of various factors. From literature reviews, promoting people's health literacy is very crucial that impacts on behaviors and health outcomes. It is also an essential skill in health care. However, health literate individuals can access, comprehend, apply communication skills, self-managed, and media literate, which influence on their health behaviors. Similarly, promoting people to be health literate in food consumption to prevent cysticercosis will help them to have safe behaviors and ultimately reduce cysticercosis.

Thus, the purpose of this academic article is to present nurses' roles in public health monitoring as well as provide knowledge and understanding. And changing the behavior of consuming cooked food and drinking clean water will be an effective and sustainable way to prevent the occurrence of pork tapeworm eggs in the brains of the population.
Poonyanuch Yoojamrat, Sureewan Vora-aroon, Ketkarn Thiptimwong Copyright (c) 2024 Nurse' Association of Thailand Northern Office https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/269752 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0700 A Study of the Desirable Characteristics of the Air Force Nurse Graduates from the Bachelor of Nursing Science Program (Revised Curriculum, 2023) as Identified by Stakeholder Needs https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/267389
This descriptive study aimed to identify the desirable characteristics of the Air Force nurse graduates for the Bachelor of Nursing Science program (Revised Curriculum 2023) as identified by stakeholders’ needs using the Delphi technique. Nurses can use it for managing proper dosing interval times of intravenous antibiotics after a stat dose in order to obtain good outcomes for patients with infectious diseases and safety in drug administration.
Bumnet Saengrut, Patarapol Kanchaiya , Puttachat Somana , Sinwisuth Sutheechai, Tula Wongpalee Copyright (c) 2024 Nurse' Association of Thailand Northern Office https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/269689 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Health Literacy and COVID-19 Preventive Behaviors Among Undergraduate Students at Payap University https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/269337
This survey research aimed to investigate the relationships between health literacy on COVID-19 and the preventive behaviors of undergraduate students at Payap University, Chiang Mai Province, using Nutbeam's health literacy framework. The sample consisted of 175 first-year undergraduate students selected using Krejcie & Morgan's sample size estimation table and stratified random sampling to ensure equal representation from each faculty. Data were collected using an online questionnaire via Google Forms and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation.

The results revealed that most students had moderate overall COVID-19 health literacy, with moderate levels of access to information, knowledge and understanding of preventive measures, and media literacy. Self-management and decision-making skills were low. Preventive behaviors were also moderate, with low levels of protective behaviors within families and close contacts. Health literacy had a significant positive correlation with preventive behaviors (r=.615, p<0.001).

Therefore, educational institutions should use these findings to incorporate content on COVID-19 prevention and emerging infectious diseases into their curricula for students, emphasizing accurate information, reliable sources, and critical thinking. Decision-making and self-management skills should also be emphasized.
Kanyapat Chaeye, On-Anong Thammajinda, Supaporn Chongkhamang Copyright (c) 2024 Nurse' Association of Thailand Northern Office https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/269337 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Factors Influencing the Resilience Among Elderly Individuals Living in Muang Nakhon Sawan Province https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/270996
This descriptive research aims to study the factors influencing the resilience among elderly individuals living in Muang Nakhon Sawan Province. The samples were 278 elderly people in Muang Nakhon Sawan Province. The research instruments were SPST-20, health behaviors questionnaires, and resilience inventory with CVI = 1 and Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient at 0.90, 0.74, and 0.93, respectively. Percentage, average, and standard deviation are statistical measurements that were used to analyze the data. The chi-square test of association and Pearson’s product-moment correlation were used to analyze the correlations between factors and the resilience inventory. Lastly, multiple regression analysis was used to analyze predictive variables that are useful in predicting the resilience inventory.

The results show that the mean score of the resilience among the elderly is 120.12 (SD = 12.24) and 113 samples (40.6%) have a greater or equal to the mean score. Stress and health behaviors were at moderate levels of 56.5% and 37.4%, respectively. Personal factors such as gender, age, salary, marital status, education, and diseases are directly related to the resilience of the elderly, with statistical significance at the.01 level. Stress and health behaviors are found to be correlated with the resilience among the samples with statistically significant level of.01 (r = -.273,.575 respectively). Health behaviors (X1),gender (X2), salary (X3), and age (X4) are the crucial factors for predicting resilience at 63.5 % with statistical significance at the.01 level. The equations were 72.850 + (-.286) (X1) + 6.127(X2) + (-1.652) (X3) + (-3.744) (X4).

Therefore, nurses and health team members must be aware of health behaviors, gender, income, and age of the individuals when planning for nursing cares or health counseling. These help to promote the resilience of the elderly, helping the elderly to accept themselves, enhancing self-esteem, coping with critical situations, recovering to normal livings, and maintaining a good quality of life.
Wongsiri Jamfa, Sirirut Chumpeeruang, Orjun Wanchulee Copyright (c) 2024 Nurse' Association of Thailand Northern Office https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/270996 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Factor analysis of Empathy Inventory for Nursing Students https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnorthnurse/article/view/270004
The purpose of this research was to factor analyses empathy inventory for nursing students.
