This pandemic has severely affected children with asthma regarding to their physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects. Asthma is a chronic respiratory tract disease in children. If they became COVID-19 infected, the symptoms of asthma would be more serious than children with other diseases. Furthermore, The COVID-19 infection impacts on asthmatic attack which stimulates the respiratory system exacerbations of asthma and pneumonia. Regarding these impacts, if asthmatic children received insufficient healthcare providers from the health services or caregivers and incorrect medical treatment, the severity of the disease would increase. However, if children with asthma received appropriate care from the caregivers, they could control the severe symptoms and reduce the emergency hospitalization rate. Hence, caregiver management of children with asthma is a major priority to prevent and decrease the severity of the disease during the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Therefore, healthcare providers should understand their roles and use appropriate guidelines in order to prevent COVID-19 infection.
