This operational research design aimed to investigate the effectiveness of clinical nursing practice guidelines to pain relief in critically ill patients, Lamphun Hospital. There were 2 sample groups; 1) sixty professional nurses who provided patients care in the intensive care unit. 2) the 539 critically ill patients who were admitted to the intensive care unit between November 2017 to February 2018, consisted of 271 patients before using clinical nursing practices guideline and 268 patients during implementation of this guideline. The research instruments were clinical nursing practice guidelines for pain relief in critically ill patients and compiled the results of pain management in these patients. Clinical practice guidelines of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario were used as a conceptual framework of this study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that health teams were satisfied at a high level to clinical nursing practice guidelines to pain relief in critically ill patients (X = 2.70, S.D. = .47). The critically ill patients were received appropriate pain management 83.51 - 99.65 percent of all indicators and relieved pain about 90.55 percent. Pain assessments in critically ill patients with appropriate tools were used for the information in the medical team to relieve pain effectively. Therefore, this study should be used to improve the quality of care.</p> ER -
