It is correlated with the incidence of non-communicable diseases, in particular cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes.  In addition, it is correlated to mortality from cardiovascular disease. The causes of metabolic syndrome are obesity and insulin resistance. Nowadays, literatures and recommendations regarding to metabolic syndrome management are promoting exercise, changing eating behavior, and reducing weight.  Proper and regular exercise help preventing and reducing the severity of metabolic syndrome as well as preventing complications that may occur.  Also, exercise helps reducing problems and long-term impacts from metabolic syndrome. Currently, people have limitations to exercise.  The studies show that insufficient exercise also increases, therefore, promoting exercise is very challenging.  Nurses have important roles in promoting exercise to prevent metabolic syndrome.
