Abstract

Data from 1987 Thai Demographic and Health Survey indicate that infants under 5 months old show a lower percentage having diarrhea than the children aged 6-23 months old. This is related to the fact that breastfeeding is common for children aged between 0-5 months while supplemental foods are less common. The data also indicate that infants who are currently breastfeeding are less likely to have diarrhea than those who are not.
