Abstract

Phytochemical investigation of the leaves of Thai plant, Pachygone dasycarpa Kurz (Menispermaceae), has led to the isolation of (-)-8-methoxysinomenine (1), a morphinan alkaloid, and (+)-protoquercitol (2), a cyclohexanepentol. Their structures were assigned after detailed analysis of 1H- and 13C-NMR both 1D and 2D spectra and comparison of the spectral data with published values.
