Efficiency in Visual Function and Quality of Life of Pre and Post of Cataract Surgery Patients in Roi Et Hospital, Roi Et Province, Thailand

This analytical study of efficiency in visual function and quality of life of pre and post of cataract surgery patients at Roi Et Hospital, Roi Et province. Purposive sampling was used to recruit 48 samples (20-85 years old) during January to March 2010 with an interview questionnaire that was adapted and developed for this particular research. Data analysis was descriptive statistics and Paired t test. The study result mainly found that (1) mean score of efficiency in visual function post of cataract surgery ( 48.13, SD 3.41) was higher than that in pre of cataract surgery ( 27.42, SD 9.37); (2) mean score of quality of life post of cataract surgery ( 68.50, SD 3.66) was higher than that in pre of cataract surgery ( 47.10, SD 14.89); (3) efficiency in visual function of pre and post of cataract surgery was different with statistic significance (p<0.001); (4) quality of life of pre and post of cataract surgery was also different with statistic significance (p<0.001). In addition to the fact that this study yielded values and benefits to relevant executives in regards to the development for better service system, it was also recommended that further research in other types of eye disease should also be carried out.Downloads
