The sample in this study were 161 family caregivers of the patients with stroke who received treatment at Samutsakhon Hospital from February 1 to December 31, 2020. The research instruments included : (1) Personal Information Questionnaire (2) The Caregiving Demand Scale are including: the caring required- time scales which the caregivers spend on their stroke patients (CVI = 0.95) ; and the caregiver’s stress scales (CVI = 1.0) ; and (3) the stress coping methods of stroke patient’s caregiver scales (CVI = 0.88) The data were analyzed the relationship between the stress and the stress coping methods with Pearson’s correlation coefficient statistic test.</p><p>                The research results showed that: (1) Family caregivers of the patients with stroke require the caring time for overall their patients in the moderate level (59.60%) and the overall caregiver’s stress level was low (68.90%) ; (2) The sample used a stress coping method in 3 aspects : problem confrontation, emotions management and alleviating feelings of stress. And (3) the stress of the samples statistically significant showed positive relationships with the overall stress coping methods in low levels (r = .350, P &lt; .01) In terms of aspects, the managing the emotion and compensating the stress feeling statistically significant showed positive correlation in low level, respectively (r = .376, P &lt; .01 and r = .269, P &lt; .01, respectively). Recommendations from research, nurses should guide the family caregivers of the patients with stroke based on the contexts and the environments that they will encounter after discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, nurses can relief the caregiver’s stress by promote the caregiver’s participation until they are skillful for caring their relatives at hospital, the caregivers can caring without stress by themselves for their relatives at homes. In addition, nurses should instruct the caregivers for understanding the alterations of the patient’s physical and the mental status. So, the caregivers can anticipate the possible patient’s situation change. </p> ER -
