Abstract

This study was the quasi-experimental research two group pretest-posttest design aimed to Effects of readiness preparation by using video instructional media on knowledge, self-confidence and satisfaction of nursing students in adult nursing practicum I who was studying 3rd year graduate nursing students in Boromarajonani College of Nursing Buddhachinaraj. Sixty-eight participants, were selected by purposive sampling. All participants were divided into experimental and control groups, 34 in each group. The control group received normal preparation, while those in the experimental group received readiness preparation by using video instructional media. The researcher collected the data in the pre-preparation, immediately after preparation, and post-practical training. The data were analysed based on frequency,

percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi square, independent t-test, paired t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA.

The results of the study showed that 1) The mean knowledge score of the subjects after the experiment was significantly higher than before receiving intervention (p<.05) 2) The mean self-confidence score of the subjects after the experiment was significantly higher than before receiving intervention (p<.05) 3) The experimental group had the highest average of overall satisfaction. However, teaching and learning management that encourages learners to develop will help learners gain knowledge, self-confidence, and remember more and can develop themselves continuously, therefore, such teaching methods should be adapted to suit the context of the students before the next practical training.
