Abstract

This study was an intervention study with a historical control group. The objective is to compare theratio of pressure injury between patients receiving normal care with the SSIE-Tq3h bundle care, which was updated from the nursing department at Siriraj Hospital, it consists of S:Surface, S: Skin , I: Incontinence, E: Encourage Nutrition, Tq3h: Turn Position which is to change and reposition every 3 hours. The sample is made up of 80 inpatients in special medical wards with Braden scores of ≤ 16 points. Data from 40 in the study group were collected form April 2018-March 2019, while 40 in the historical control group it was collected from patients medical records from April 2017-March 2018. The tools used were the SSIE-Tq3h bundle care to prevent pressure injury and patient s ' record form, namely general information, Braden scale and the number of pressure injury. These were validate by 3 experts, the content validity index was 0.90 and 0.89 and the interrater reliability was 1. Analysis of information of general data, risk according to the Braden scale and effects of the SSIE-Tq3h bundle care with chi-square statistics was done. The study indicated that using the SSIE-Tq3h bundle care for ratio of pressure injury is less than the reference group that received regular care and has statistical significance. (p < 0.01)
