Abstract

This research is a descriptive correlation study designed to assess the quality of life and study factors related to the quality of life among older people who are raising grandchildren in Uttaradit Province. The sample

It had a reliability value of 0.90. Data were analyzed using frequency statistics, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, Pearson correlation, and eta coefficient statistics.
The research results found that the quality of life of elderly people raising grandchildren in Uttaradit Province as a whole was at a high level (Mean = 3.69, S.D. = 0.45). Factors related to elderly people raising grandchildren included: sex (r = 0.928, p-value < 0.05), income (r = 0.163, p-value < 0.05), the number of grandchildren raised (r = - 0.127, p-value < 0.05), anxiety (r = - 0.305, p-value < 0.001), participating in social activities (r = 0.472, p-value < 0.001), and receiving support from society (r = 0.450, p-value < 0.001) statistically significant at 0.05. The relevant agencies should be established to promote the provision of an incremental revenue policy for the elderly who raise their grandchildren. Social support activities should be organized to promote the elderly group that raise grandchildren to participate this includes periodic home visits to assess the well-being, mental health, and anxiety of elderly people caring for their children and grandchildren.
