Assessing variables related to prevention behavior of Coronavirus 2019 infection of cross-border freight drivers, Mae Sot District, Tak Province

This descriptive research aimed to study the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) prevention behavior of cross-border freight drivers and assessing variables related to the COVID-19 prevention behavior of freight driversin Mae Sot District, Tak Province. The sample consisted of 152 freight drivers. Samples were collected by systematic random sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, S.D., and inferential statistics including Fisher's Exact test and Spearman rank correlation.
The study found that 50.7% of the sample group demonstrated a high level of Preventive behavior against COVID-19 Factors related to COVID-19 prevention behaviors were age (p-value = 0.041), average monthly income (p-value = 0.042), previously infected with coronavirus (p-value = 0.035), received vaccination against COVID-19 (p-value = 0.005), perceived susceptibility toward COVID-19 (r = 0.22, p-value = 0.006), perceived severity of COVID-19 (r = 0.28, p-value = 0.001), and perceived benefits of COVID-19 prevention behavior (r = 0.42, p-value < 0.001). The results of this study can be used as information for staff at the international communicable disease control checkpoint and public health worker for surveillance, planning, and prevention and control of COVID-19 and other emerging infectious disease saiming to promote people' disease prevention behaviors.
