Self-care evaluation of family volunteers in Sukhothai Province

Abstract

The purposes of this descriptive research were to evaluate self care of family volunteers and factors related to self-care of family volunteers. The samples were 546 family volunteers in Sukhothai Province. They were selected by using multi-stage sampling technique. An evaluation form was employed for data collection. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Point biserial correlation coefficient, Spearman rank correlation coefficient, and Eta correlation coefficient.

The results revealed that evaluation of the family volunteers in self-care was acceptable the criteria with the value of 99.6%. Duration of working as family volunteers related to the self-care of family volunteers with the statistical significance level of 0.05 (r=0.094, p<0.05). According to the results of this research, the key stakeholders should promote and support family volunteers to enhance self-care and provide health care to family members based on the criteria for evaluation of potential self-care in family.
