Important policies of the disease control journal
Key Policy Changes of the Disease Control Journal to Enhance Its Global Impact:
The journal has implemented the following policies to promote international recognition and utilization:
1. 2018: Discontinuation of ISSN 1685-6481 and Print Editions
Since 2018, the Disease Control Journal has adopted a 100% online publication policy. As a result, the previous ISSN (1685-6481) for the print edition was discontinued and replaced with E-ISSN 2651-1649 for online publication.
2. 2022: Requirement for Three Peer Reviewers from the Initial Submission:
In accordance with the 2021 Notification regarding the Regulations on Criteria and Procedures for the Appointment of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors, academic works submitted for evaluation in university-affiliated positions must be published in high-quality, widely recognized journals within the relevant academic field.
To meet these standards, the Disease Control Journal requires at least three external peer reviewers from diverse institutions for each submitted article. This policy ensures rigorous academic review and aligns with the requirement that journals must maintain continuous publication for at least three years and follow a well-defined, regular publication schedule, whether in print or electronic format.
The Disease Control Journal has aligned its processes with these regulations, except for the requirement of three peer reviewers per article.
To comply with this standard, the journal introduced a new policy in 2022, allowing authors to request three peer reviewers. This request must be specified in the online journal system on the day of submission.
3. 2023: Introduction of Bilingual Table and Figure Titles (Thai and English)
As part of the journal’s strategy to enhance its international visibility, the Disease Control Journal implemented a policy to standardize table and figure descriptions in line with internationally indexed journals.
Starting from Volume 49, Issue 1 (2023) onwards, all articles must include bilingual titles (Thai and English) for tables and figures to facilitate broader accessibility and global recognition.
4. 2024: No Publication Fees
Following the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) guidelines, which require journals to clearly disclose publication fees on their websites, the Disease Control Journal has officially declared a no publication fee policy.
This policy is now explicitly stated in the "About the Journal" section, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all authors.
